Our team is led by Mary Smithers, the Owner at Tutorica Academy. Mary has an impressive 14 years of experience teaching Grade 10 – 12 in Physical Science. With 11 years at Potchefstroom Girls High, and 3 years at Teneo Online School, Mary’s extensive background in education illustrates her deep commitment to the field. Possessing a BsC Degree in Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics, as well as a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) from NWU Potchefstroom, Mary is driven by an unwavering passion for teaching. Her goal is to inspire and empower students, unlocking their full potential and nurturing a lifelong love of learning.
With a Level 5 180-hour TEFL Certificate and 2 years of online teaching experience, Suné has cultivated a strong skill set in creating dynamic and interactive learning environments. Currently a 3rd-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree at UNISA, she is committed to continuous growth in her own education. Suné’s exceptional communication skills and ability to build strong connections with her students ensure that learning is a fun and engaging experience. By fostering a friendly yet respectful classroom atmosphere, Suné strives to instil a love for learning among her students, motivating them to pursue knowledge throughout their lives.
